Troy Bayliss capped a magnificent 2006 WSBK Championship with a wild card win in the MotoGP finale in Valenica, Spain. Ducati finished the 2006 season with a 1-2 result as Loris Capirossi finished 2nd.


3rd place Nicky Hayden clinched his first MotoGP title when Valentino Rossi had an uncharacteristic fall.


Pro Italia sent Simon Barrett to Valenica for this one in a lifetime event. Next year we'll be dreaming up something even better. Stay tuned.

The Ducati Trackday that will be held on October 16th (see info here) now features lower entry fees for those of you who will be riding an Italian at the event; entry for an Italian bike is now $195 while non-Italian machines is $225.

Additionally, should you be a novice to track days and thus required to attend the novice school - a wise thing to do - the school fee is $100 for Italian bike riders and $125 for non-Italian riding peeps.

The dream of a true GP replica has finally come true and the Desmosedici RR will be the first-ever road-going motorcycle to offer such a stunning wealth of performance and technology that comes directly from Ducati's experience in MotoGP.

Pro Italia will begin accepting reservations Friday, June 2, 2006. MSRP is $65,000. The purchase of a Desmosedici RR includes: 3 year warranty, 3 year free scheduled maintenance, Racing Exhaust and CPU, Rear Stand, Bike Cover, Sponsor Sticker Kit.

There will be two versions of the Ducati Desmosedici RR. The Desmosedici RR is "Rosso GP" red, has a white number plate on the tail section, and a white Ducati logo on the fairing. The Desmosedici RR "Team Look" is also "Rosso GP" red, and as with the factory Corse bikes, has the broad white stripe on the fairing, and all of the team sponsor decals applied to the bike, all under clear coat.
