2 Events this Saturday, June 14th

Pro Italia is pleased to present two events this Saturday the 14th.
A round of Spring Cleaning for us means a rummage sale of savings from 20%-50% for you for one day only, starting at 11AM sharp and ending at 4PM. Save on selected Shoei, Arai, AGV, Vanson, Ducati, Dainese, Sidi and Piloti items. Additionally, our Parts Department will be offering significant savings on a limited selection of older parts and accessories for your Ducati. Stock of sale items will be limited to in-store items only. When an item is gone, its gone. No early birds. One day only!

We're also very proud to present David Gross, author of "Fast Company: A Memoir of Life, Love and Motorcycles in Italy". At 1PM David will be dicussing the book and his late '90's experiences shaping Ducati's image, brand and products as he moved from being a corporate finance lawyer in Manhattan to overseeing strategic planning for, the then under new ownership, Ducati. David Gross is an insider with Ducati and does have knowledge of the marketing along with technical side of the bikes. We'll have books for sale and signing.
This PI Speaker event will begin at 1 o'clock in the afternoon - with the sale running from 11 AM to 4 PM. See you there!

Soup interviews Davide Tardozzi

"Xerox Ducati Superbike Team Manager Davide Tardozzi lives in interesting times. He's head of Ducati's Superbike effort as both the Superbike platform and the Superbike series enter a renaissance period, but at the same time he's counting down the days to when his star Superbike rider and Ducati's hero, Troy Bayliss, will hang up his leathers for good. Who will replace the man some feel is irreplacable? Tardozzi, a former Superbike rider himself, nearly won the title in the series' first season and knows how fate can play such a huge role in racing. A door is closing and at the same time opening. Is it opening for Max Biaggi?"

PI's MotoGP contest - first two winners

We are pleased to announce the first two winners in our 2008 MotoGP contest.

The week one winner was Dave Fantis in Chicago. He won a t-shirt/hat apparel pack. The week two winner, from this past weekend (Catalunya) was Pamela Wyatt of Altadena, California. Pamela won a battery tender.

How our contest works:

Before each MotoGP event choose who you think will win the race. Deliver your prediction to our apparel manager by 3pm California time the day before the race by either visiting the shop and telling our Apparel Manager, or emailing your choice to apparel@proitalia.com. Winners of each weeks contest will be entered in a raffle for a weekly prize. Entries delivered AFTER 3pm California time the day before the race will not be accepted for that weekends event.

At the end of the season, the contestants who have correctly guessed the winner of at least one race are eligible to enter the final-race-of-the-season contest. Those eligible for the final race will enter by picking the entire field, first place to last place, with the winner having chosen the most exact result - one point for each correct rider/finishing position. The winner of the final race contest will win a MotoGP replica helmet of their choice. At this final contest all entrants must be in the store to be eligible to win the Grand Prize. Any ties in the final race will be chosen by a random drawing from a helmet. One entry/guess per person, per race. Weekly entries must contain a legit first and last name, postal and email address. Replica helmets subject to availability, for example, older Rossi designs are no longer available.

Jay Leno on the Ducati Desmosedici RR

This is the equivalent of driving a McLaren F1 and there’s really nothing faster in the world if you know what you’re doing. But even if you don’t know what you’re doing, you know I’ve probably used this analogy before, but it’s like having sex with an aerobics instructor – you know, I’m exhausted and panting and this thing’s going: “Are you done, already?”
