1977 Ducati 900SS 3,898 miles. Same owner for over 26 years. Motorcycle has been service locally and ridden up until a few years ago when the battery was removed and gas drained. California registration is up to date. Shown by appointment. International sales welcomed.
In the owners words, “The 900SS came from the original owner in Florida, who installed the “race kit” (40mm Dellorto’s and Conti mufflers) and did some club racing before putting it in storage for a few years (I believe Syd Tunstall prepared it for the storage). Both bikes have K&N air filters. I have never run them with the unfiltered velocity stacks that may have been part of the “race kit”. The 900 possibly has replica Imola cams. I have another set that came with the bike that may be the originals. It always idled well and pulled strongly throughout the rev range, so I suspect either the originals are in it or the replica Imola cams are not too extreme.”
“Both ( we also have his 72 Ducati 750 Sport for sale) were cosmetically restored in ’89-’90, as was the fashion before the current preference for “patina”. Stainless spokes, paint and polish, European style tail lights replacing the larger clunky looking ones for the American market. The Borrani rims on both are original and the engines have not been apart. Both still have the lead seal under the crankcase.”
Hagarty guide puts this bike and condition between a “Excellent” and “Good”rating. Few surviving. $32,995
